Save for some “cosmetic items” and a few punch list items, Barkley Lake Water District’s waer treatment plant expansion project is essentially complete.

Louis Robbins of GRW, an engineering firm out of Nashville, Tenn., said that to members of the BLWD Board when they met Monday morning. They also set a date for an open house at the plant for Thursday, June 28, from 12 noon – 3 p.m.

BLWD Board Chair Scott Bridges said they want to “showcase what we’ve done with this money.”

The total project, including plant expansion and line upgrades, has been budgeted at $10,346,000. Robbins said they’re still retaining about $277,000 until the project is completely finished, and added that they expect to have a contingency of about $350,000 when all is said and done.
