TCHS Special Olympics team competes in Spring Area 1 Track and Field Games

The Trigg Co. High School Special Olympics team recently participated in the Spring Track and Field games on the Murray State University campus on Saturday, April 28, 2012.

Area 1 consists of 13 counties including Trigg, Caldwell, Calloway, Ballard, Carlisle, Crittenden, Fulton, Graves, Hickman, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall and McCracken.

Trigg Co. was well represented at the area competition by high school Special Olympics team members including Maurice Catlett, Shane Edmonson, Cameron Kniaz, Rachel Cook, Dylan Hancock, James Garvin and Rachelle Garvin. The team brought home first place ribbons in 11 of their 17 events.

The Special Olympics coaches and volunteers include Penny Baker, Billy Fortner, Dannette Olson, Theresa Wilson, Cindy Barnett, and Marty Jaggers. The junior volunteers are Hannah Barnett (TCHS student), Hayden Daniels (TCMS student), and Olivia Baker (UK college student).
