However, Todd also says they are still on track to complete repairs and open the bridge by the Sunday deadline.
“If things go really well, we are optimistic we could possibly have it open sometime Saturday, but we won’t be able to make that determination until about Thursday,” Todd said. “Otherwise, we are on track to beat the Sunday opening deadline.”
Todd said timeline information, as soon as it is available, will be posted on the KyTC District 1 Facebook page at www.facebook.com/kytcdistrict1.
Crews with Hall Contracting poured the concrete deck on Sunday morning. Todd says that KyTC inspectors took cylindrical samples of the concrete and will do stress and strength tests on those samples to make sure the concrete is up to snuff.
