Members of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR), Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legion and the Marine Corps League placed a wreath at the veterans’ memorial at East End Cemetery Monday morning, in honor of Memorial Day. The annual Memorial Day program will be held Monday at the Cadiz Renaissance Center, 49 Jefferson St., in downtown Cadiz.

The program will begin at 10 a.m. with Pam Metts, regent of James Thomas Chapter KSDAR calling the meeting to order. Assisting the local DAR Chapter with the program include, Trigg County Judge-Executive Stan Humphries, members of American Legion Post 70, VFW, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and W.O.W. Humphries will be the featured speaker. Veterans, Gold Star Mothers and wives will be recognized during the program. Members of the Pennyrile Color Guard will post the colors.

Special seating for Gold Star Mothers and wives is being arranged. The public is encouraged to attend this Memorial Day program. Clara Lawrence, chairman of the refreshment committee and members of James Thomas DAR chapter will serve refreshments at the conclusion of the program.
