TRACK AND FIELD: RA Track Meet held

A forty year old tradition continued Sunday, April 29 at Perdue Field as young men from churches in Little River Baptist Association (Trigg County) participated in the annual Royal Ambassador (RA) Track Meet.

Over 50 Boys, grades K-12, were able to participate in three of the 10 events offered and a great day of good sportsmanship and fellowship was enjoyed by all. Little River Baptist Association, which dominated state RA track meets in the late 1980s and early ‘90s, is the only known Association to hold RA track meets and have added events like basketball free throw, football toss, marksmanship (BB gun) competition, to widen the appeal to youth. First and second place finishers receiving ribbons in each event are as follows:

– Basketball: K-3, Jordan Hampton and Dallas Ahart; 4-6, Micah Brown and Andrew Amsden;

– Broad Jump: K-3, Luke Terrell; 4-6, Jakob White and Trevor Carneyhan; 7-9, Dillon Wade and Jamie Bass;

– Dash: K-3, Dallas Ahart and Tyler Ahart (50 Yards); 4-6, Nick Ahart and Graham Futrell (50 YD); 7-9, Jamie Bass (100 YD); 10-12, Zack Lane and Griffin Futrell (100 YD);

kinner and Austin Stewart; 4-6, Jake Terrell and Tyler Hampton; 7-9, Andy Terrell; 10-12, Edwin Hughes and Tim Greer.
