Over 75 participants, caregivers, and volunteers attended this free fishing tournament. Tournament winners, in order of placement, included First Place, Douglas Gray of Benton; Second Place, Aaron Epley of Hopkinsville; Third Place, Cheyenne Byrd of Hardin; Fourth Place, Tequila Maxwell of Benton; Fifth Place, Doreena Strong of Paducah; and Sixth Place, Rose Mary Kunkle of Fancy Farm.
“Thanks to everyone who helped make this day such a success,” said Gary Hawkins, LBL’s Recreation Program Manager. “The weather was beautiful, fishing was tough, but everyone had a great time. I think the volunteers and sponsors enjoyed themselves as much as the participants!”
Sponsors included Kentucky Lake Bass Club, Aurora General Store, Baits and More, B & J Bait Company, Land Between The Lakes Association, Knights of Columbus, Kroger of Murray, Walmart of Benton, Western Kentucky Regional Mental Health-Mental Retardation Board, Inc., and the U.S. Forest Service.
