“What is so rare as a day in June” That a good book couldn’t make better? Why not a few Mysteries? “June” by James Russell Lowell.

New Mysteries: “Big Cat Nap” by Rita Mae Brown, this is a Sneaky Pies and Mrs. Murphy mystery, their 20th anniversary together. It’s mid May and things are heating up for the town’s beloved ex-postmistress. Her dear friend Miranda has a vehicular mishap and something is amiss.

“Deadlocked” by Charlaine Harris, this is the 12th book in the Sookie Stackhouse series. It’s vampire politics as usual around the town of Bon Temps, but never before have they hit so close to Sookie’s heart.

“Death Come Silently” by Carolyn Hart, this is a Death on Demand mystery. When Annie’s friend a volunteer at the charity shop is murdered, Annie asks her husband to help her.

“Limpopo Academy of Private Detection” by Alexander McCall Smith, this is the 13th book in the No. 1 Ladies Detective agency. Precious faces a tricky situation when her personal and professional lives become entangled.

“Buried in Buttercream” by G.A. McKevett, this is a Savannah Reid mystery. Savannah has decided to stop sweating the small stuff. But murder can ruin even the best-laid plans.

New Fiction: “Helpless” by Daniel Palmer, this is an electrifying, and emotionally charged thriller. A high school soccer coach finds his world upended by shocking accusation and long buried secrets.

“Unnatural Acts” by Stuart Woods, this is a Stone Barrington novel. An old case comes back to haunt Stone when he is hired by a hedge fund billionaire to talk some sense into his wayward son.

New Christian Fiction: “A Perfect Love” by Lori Copeland and Angela Hunt, this is book four in the Heavenly Daze series. A new year brings challenges aplenty for the angels who guard the homes of Heavenly Daze.

New Non-fiction: “Honky Tonk Girl: My Life in Lyrics” by Loretta Lynn, this is her life story in song, with a lot of pictures.

“All About Roasting” by Molly Stevens, this is a new approach to a classic art. With over 200 recipes featuring a full range of dishes from beef, lamb, pork, poultry, seafood, vegetables and even fruits.

New Quilt Book: “Raggedy Reverse Applique” by Kim Deneault, this book has 10 fast and fun projects.

New Audio Books: “Devil’s Gate” by Clive Cussler, “High Lonesome” by Louis L’Amour, and “The Cricket in Times Square” by George Selden.

New CDs: “Stronger” by Sara Evans, and “Clancy’s Tavern” by Toby Keith.

New DVDs: “Your Highness,” “The Muppets,” “The Music Man,” and “Last Chance Harvey.”
