The annual Cadiz Take a Kid Fishing Day was held Saturday, June 2 at West Cadiz Park, sponsored by the City of Cadiz, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), Pennyrile Allied Community Services (PACS) and Pennyrile Resource Conservation and Development. Cadiz Renaissance on Main Director Leida Underhill said approximately 170 kids and more than 200 adults attended the event.

Contest winners were as follows:

Ages 3-5, longest fish: John Humphrey; most caught: Kaitlyn Wells; smallest fish: Anna Marie Moseley; casting distance: Damian Page; reeling time: Kaitlyn Wells.

Ages 6-8 longest fish: Preston Holder and Ethan Traub; most caught: Alyssa Ackerman; smallest fish: Alyssa Ackerman and Taclaina Caddell; casting distance: Tyler Gutmann; reeling time: Trey Blanton.

Ages 9-11 longest fish: Caterina Boren, Ethan Wells and Andrew Williamson; most caught: Donna Meter and Deshon Potts; smallest fish: Deshon Potts; casting distance: Keeana Waterhouse; reeling time: Noah Strickland.

Ages 12-15 longest fish: Perry Mosley; most caught: Joey Meter; smallest fish: Kyrian Wisdom; casting distance: Frank Stott; reeling time: Frank Stott.
