Mr. Thomas died of natural causes at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Jennie Stuart Hospital in Hopkinsville.
He was born on Dec. 6, 1925, in Trigg County to the late Dallie Brown and Ollie Downs Thomas, Jr.
Mr. Thomas retired as a mechanic from ACE Freight in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of Donaldson Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by four brothers Ted Thomas, Elmer Thomas, Amos Thomas and Dallie Brown Thomas, Jr.; and four sisters, Stella Finley, Edna Christian, Bessie Adams and Maude Taylor.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mrs. Mary Ann Sumner Thomas of Cadiz; one son Randy Thomas (and wife Nora) of Cadiz; one daughter, Jill Alexander (and husband Freddie) of Hopkinsville; five grandchildren, Scott Thomas, Stephanie Boyd, Shaun Thomas, Jay Latham and Jordan Latham; and six great-grandchildren, Alie Boyd, Bradley Boyd, Julia Thomas, Brayden Driskell, Bryson Latham and Max Latham.
Pallbearers were Lexie Sumner, Scott Thomas, Brad Boyd, Shaun Thomas, Jay Latham, Steve Thomas and Carol Thomas.
Music was provided by Sheila Lancaster and June Cobb, vocalists and Rose Bush, pianist.
