Tyler Mitchell of Cadiz earned a top-10 finish in last week’s Kentucky State Amateur Championship golf tournament, hosted by the Cardinal Club in Louisville.

Mitchell was tied for first place after day one of the event, firing a 3-under-par 68. He shot even par on day 2 and 3-over on the third day, finishing with a three-round score of 213 (even par).

Mitchell just completed his senior season on the golf team at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where the 49ers tied for second place in the Atlantic 10 Championships and 11th in NCAA Tournament Regional play. Mitchell competed in both of those events as well as 10 of 12 regular season matches.
