Mr. New died following a short illness at 7:12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2012, at St. Anthony’s Lucy Smith King Care Center.
He was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Evelyn Herndon New; one brother; two sisters; and one daughter, Melissa New Daniels.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette Nance New of Henderson; one brother, Fred New of Eddyville; four sisters, Virginia Williams, Rebekah Brindley, both of Smithland, Stella Potts of Tiline and Grace Tincher of Greencastle, Ind.; one half-sister, Judy Newton of Grand Rivers; two sons, Mike New (and wife Donna) of Franklin and Todd New of Henderson; one step-daughter, Tana Cunningham (and husband Tony) of Hardin; one aunt, Rheanelle New Stone of Cadiz; nine grandchildren; two great-grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
