Funeral services for Joyce Sumner Dixon, 76, of Cadiz, were held on Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Harold Greenfield officiated. Burial followed in the Fuller Cemetery in Trigg County. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Dixon died on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at her residence in Cadiz.

She was born on Aug. 4, 1935, in Trigg County to John Bob Sumner and Willie Lucille Allen Sumner.

Joyce retired from Elk Brand Manufacturing and was a member of Pugh Flat Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Glen Dixon, Sr.; father, John Bob Sumner; mother, Willie Lucille Allen Sumner (and step-father Grady Feltner); and one brother, J.D. Sumner.

She is survived by one brother, Van Sumner of Nashville, Tenn.; one son, Marvin Glen Dixon, Jr. of Cadiz; three daughters, Sheila Carol Faughn (and husband James) of Hopkinsville, Sandra Joy Dixon and Myra “Suzy”Hrudicka (and husband Mark) all of Cadiz; one sister-in-law, Mary Sumner of Lincoln Park, Mich.; four grandchildren, Daniel Knight, Jeremy Lipman, Alison Wilson and Heather Scott; eight great-grandchildren, Jake Norman, Josh Norman, Thatcher Lipman, Kelsey Littlefield, Ryann Faughn, Makayla Knight, Malachi Knight and Tori Scott.

Pallbearers were Andy Anderson, Sr., Andy Anderson, Jr., Mike Dixon, Tim Lacheta, Jacob Norman and Larry Steck.
