Funeral services for Charles Littlejohn, 79, of Cadiz, were held on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. John Mitchell and Jason Strickland officiated. Burial followed in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Goodwin Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Littlejohn died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his residence in Cadiz.

He was born on Oct. 17, 1932 in Between the Rivers to the late Harvey H. and Emma Lane Littlejohn.

Charles was retired form Paradise Steam Plant and Lake Barkley State Resort Park. He attended Cadiz Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121, Rizaph Shrine Temple, Opelia Chapter 55 Order of the Eastern Star and he was an avid sportsman.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Harvey Nelson Littlejohn, Ernest Littlejohn, Hollis Littlejohn and James Ray Littlejohn.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Glenda Bridges Littlejohn of Cadiz; one sister, Louise Birdsong (and husband Boyce) of Cadiz; one brother, Woody Littlejohn (and wife Trudy) of Cadiz; one daughter, Sheila Thomas (and husband Allen) of Cadiz; three grandchildren, Rise and Derrick Herndon, Jake Thomas and Joel Ben Thomas.

Pallbearers were Dan Jolly, Norris Futrell, Teddy Birdsong, David Nelson Littlejohn, Barry Littlejohn, Gerald Littlejohn, Clarence Grigsby and John Cansler. Music was provided by Pam Witty, organist, and The Rev. Roy Marquess, Jr., vocalist.
