Trigg County’s 7-8-year-old all-star baseball team took first place in the Third Annual Trigg County Summer Slam sponsored by Cortner’s Collision over the weekend at the Recreation Complex.

Trigg beat Murray 13-7 and lost to Lyon County 6-2 and the West Kentucky Aces 9-8 in pool play, which made them the No. 4 seed in their pool. In the tournament, Trigg beat Hanson 14-6, top-seed Hopkinsville Diamond Dogs 17-3, second-seed West Kentucky Aces 13-7 and Caldwell County 16-3 for the championship.

Trigg’s 9-10 team won its pool but lost in tournament play, and the 11-12 team will continue its tournament Monday at the complex. The tournament was delayed due to weather Friday and Saturday.
