Funeral services for Marie Oliver Mayhugh, 87, of Lyon County, were held on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at Lamasco Baptist Church in Lyon County. The Rev. Dean Ray officiated. Burial followed in the Lamasco Baptist Church Cemetery. Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Mayhugh died following a short illness at 9:15 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Caldwell Medical Center in Princeton.

Marie was born on Oct. 20, 1924, in Trigg County to the late Howard Oliver and Madoline Wade Oliver.

She was a member of Lamasco Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Oliver; and three sisters, Pauline Peek, Elizabeth Hubbard and Louise Cummins.

She is survived by her husband, Dale W. Mayhugh of Lamasco; one sister, Edna Lowery of Princeton; one son, John Mayhugh of Louisville; two daughters, Margaret Newby (and husband Billy Ray) of Princeton and Joni Mayhugh of Lyon County; two grandchildren, Barry Newby and Danny Newby; three great-grandchildren, Stevie Newby, Olivia Newby and Isaac Newby; one great-great-granddaughter, Hadley Grace Russell; and several nieces and nephews.
