Members of the Trigg County Board of Education discussed having two assistant principals for the Trigg County Primary and Intermediate Schools Monday evening.
The Trigg County Board of Education, at a special called meeting Monday evening, voted unanimously to create the two new full-time positions in the place of the one position that had previously been in place.
“After considerable discussion, I believe this would be beneficial to both schools,” said Trigg County School Superintendent Travis Hamby. “I think it does provide a more focused approach to both the discipline and management side. It also provides a more focused approach to the curriculum and instruction side.”
The vote comes after the departure of Christopher King, who was the assistant principal for both the Primary School, which is pre-school through second grade, and the Intermediate School, which is the third through fifth grades. He left for the Calloway County School District, and his departure was effective last week.
