The Kentucky League of Cities and the Kentucky Association of Counties have made available a pair of MILO Range Pro use-of-force training simulators, one for each end of the state. The interactive video system for western Kentucky and recently spent about two weeks in Cadiz. On Friday, the Cadiz Police Department set time aside for local media to view the simulator and sample several scenarios.
“They allow us to use it for officers locally,” Cadiz Police Major Duncan Wiggins said. “I go to training every fall to learn the new scenarios and any updates to the system itself, that way there is one trained person per area that can run the system and make sure everyone gets what they need out of it.”
The scenarios feature actors who portray varying levels of criminal activity, and each scenario can branch out in several directions depending upon the reactions of the subject.
