Dorothy died on Monday, Aug. 6, 2012, at her home in Buna, Texas.
She was born on May 10, 1932, in Trigg County to the late Richard Aubrey Dunn and Dorothy Myrtle Dunn.
Dorothy had worked as a receptionist at the Futrell Clinic in Cadiz, Trigg County Farmers Bank and Hoover International. She was a member of Cadiz Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. Dorothy had also served on the Trigg County Housing Authority, was a former member of the Hopkinsville Arts Guild and was a Kentucky Colonel.
She was preceded in death by one son, John William Darnall, III; and one son-in-law, Nick Charles Thomas.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, John William “Bill” Darnall, Jr. of Buna, Texas; three sisters, Ethelene Wallis of Hopkinsville, Jewell Simmons of Cadiz, and Eunice Carr of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Dana Moore (and husband Chris) of Buna, Texas; one granddaughter, Brandy Cherry of Buna, Texas; and two great-grandchildren, Tiayali Marks and Rylan Cherry.
Music will be provided by Lennie Sanders, pianist; Suzanne Henry, vocalist; and Clay King, pianist.
