To the Editor:

No longer being prohibited from campaigning and expressing my feelings for political candidates, it is my pleasure to endorse the following for office. I wish to endorse Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries for the Kentucky 1st District Senate seat and Congressman Ed Whitfield for the 1st District in the US House of Representatives.

Stan Humphries has been an excellent Trigg County Judge Executive, showing strong support for the senior citizens of Trigg County. Case in point is that with his effort, Cadiz now has one of the best senior citizen centers in the Commonwealth. The many seniors who now enjoy and participate at the senior center should be thankful to Stan for his effort and vote to elect him to the Kentucky State Senate. Having worked with Judge Humphries in my former employment, I found him always ready to support seniors and the less fortunate in the Pennyrile district. I feel if he is elected, he will become one of he best Senators in the Kentucky General Assembly.

Congressman, Ed Whitfield, with his many votes, has supported the 1st District and helped many Kentuckians over many years. He always has had our interest at heart and been our friend in Washington. His local office, headed by Michael Pape, is ready at all times to answer questions and help us with our many problems. Congressman Whitfield has supported my former agency with many forms of funding that has helped many senior citizens and low-income persons for many years. Please show your support and vote to re-elect Ed. As Judge Zelnor Cossey was fond of saying, “If it aint broke, don’t fix it.” Let us not fix what is working, and that is Ed Whitfield.

I have been a life-long Democrat, and you might now wonder why I am endorsing these Republican candidates. My answer is, they are the best for the positions for which they run.
