Trigg cheerleaders earn honors at NCA camp

The Trigg County High School Wildcat Cheerleaders attended an NCA Cheerleading Camp at Western Kentucky University on July 26 - 29.

The cheerleaders received many awards while at camp. Cheerleaders Tamieka Thomas, X’Zashea Mayes and Brook Knight tried out and were chosen All-American cheerleaders. Knight scored the highest during the tryouts and received the top All- American Cheerleader Medal at camp.

The whole squad received the Herke Team Award, which was voted on by all teams attending the camp, as the team with the most spirit. They also received the Camp Spirit Megaphone Award, which was voted on by the camp NCA staff, as the team exhibiting the most spirit all week while at camp. The Wildcat Cheerleaders earned a spirit stick each night and also earned a team bid to the National Championships.

Wildcat Cheerleaders are: Captains Tameika Thomas, Maci Young, X’Zashea Mayes, squad members Koryn Hatfield, Stephanie Thomas, Brook Knight, Lily Gomez, Taylor Ward, Audra Baker, Brooke Ruzicka, Toria Hart, Ray Ray Womack, Kirsten Kline, Heather Hall, Karisma Hopson, Haley Hendon, Lexie Terrell and Mackenzie Fowler. The cheerleaders are coached by Brigette Durham along with assistant coaches Kerry Sweno and Kayla Oakley.
