TCYAA board president Scott Brown called 2012 the group’s most successful year in terms of signups for summer leagues, which ended last week after the 13-15-year-old baseball tournament.
Fall leagues will be available in baseball age groups 6-8, 9-10 and 11-12 and softball 7-9 and 10-12. Players whose age will place them in a new league next summer will play in that new league during the fall season. Teams in each league will play eight-to-10 games plus a end-of-season tournament, with games beginning during the first week of September and ending around the second week of October.
Registration cost is $40 per player, and signups cam be completed online at tcyaa.org.
Brown said there is interest from players in surrounding counties like Caldwell, Lyon and Christian in participating in the league here. Signups will last for approximately three weeks, and the amount of out-of-county interest will likely impact whether TCYAA holds evaulations, Brown said.
Brown said TCYAA, which will hold new officer elections after the fall season, is planning fundraising events, including a possible cornhole tournament in September.
