Mr. Simpson died of natural causes at 5:31 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.
He was born on July 16, 1934, in Trigg County to the late Homer Lee and Ida Mae Boren Simpson.
Glyn was a member of First Baptist Church in St. Bethlehem, Tenn. and was also a member of Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121. He was a United States Air Force veteran and he was retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell.
He was preceded in death by one son, in infancy.
Glyn is survived by his wife, Patsy Simpson of Clarksville, Tenn.; one son, Mike Simpson (and wife Sherry) of Clarksville, Tenn.; one daughter, Debbie Scott (and husband Bill) of Clarksville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Brian and Thomas Scott; one brother-in-law, Larry Cherry of Murray; one uncle, Barney Simpson of Mt. Vernon, Ill. and one aunt, Nell Rawlings of Evansville, Ind.
Serving as pallbearers are Bill Lester, Billy Redd, Larry Cherry, Joe Pitts, Joey Haley and Rev. John Thomas. Music will be provided by Angie Thomas, vocalist, the Rev. Kevin Roberson, vocalist, and Clay King, pianist.
