Jon Goodwin (above), current Trigg County Magistrate and candidate for county circuit clerk, was among those at a Saturday meet-and-greet picnic at West Cadiz Park that was sponsored by the Trigg County Republican Party Committee and Women’s Club.
As of press time, all of the incumbents in the Cadiz City Council race had filed, save for Regenia Wilkerson. Incumbents Susan Bryant, Todd King, Manuel Brown, Bob Noel and Frankie Phillips will be on the ballot, along with challenger Gary Polete – currently a member of the Cadiz/Trigg County Tourist Commission.
Also as of press time, no one had filed to run for Trigg County Clerk. Current clerk Dorris McGill replaced Wanda Thomas when she retired earlier this year.
And all four incumbent members of the Trigg County Soil and Water Conservation Board that are up for re-election this year have filed to run for new four-year terms. Roger Boyd Jr., James Adams, Vice Chair James S. Ladd and Secretary/Treasurer William G. Lawrence are four of the seven members of the board.
