Funeral services for Richard T. Brame, 86, of Hopkinsville, were held on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. The Rev. David Tucker and Mr. Steve Chaffin officiated. Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Brame died of natural causes at 4:02 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 25, 1925, in Trigg County to the late Eunice and James McFerrin Brame.

He was the owner and operator of Brame’s Radio and TV Service for 58 years. He was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II, where he received three Bronze Stars.

Richard was a member of Second Baptist Church where he was a deacon, and was also a member of the Civitan Club where he was past president. He served on the Christian County School Board for 24 years, where he never missed a meeting. He also served as School Board Chairman for 12 of those years.

Mr. Brame was preceded in death by four sisters; and one grandson, Sean Michael Sanderson in 1989.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret Glenn Brame; two sons, Glenn Brame (and wife Dayna) of Hopkinsville and Mack Brame (and wife Vicki) of Crofton; one daughter, Susan Sanderson (and husband Jerry) of Cerulean; four grandchildren, Daniel Brame, Ashley Hall, Brandon and Wesley Sanderson; and one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Jane Sanderson.
