Funeral services for Mildred “Millie” Humphreys, 88, of Hopkinsville, were held on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Hughart and Beard Funeral Home in Hopkinsville. The Rev. Dr. Rick Stevens officiated. Burial followed in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz. Hughart and Beard Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Mildred Humphreys died of natural causes at 10:55 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, at her residence in the Village at Christian Care Communities.

She was born on Jan. 29, 1924, in Trigg County to the late Harl Clayton Futrell and Monte Erwin Wilson Futrell.

Mildred had worked as a secretary at Kentucky Farm Bureau, Christian County Middle School and the Western Kentucky Presbytery. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ Humphreys in 1985.

She is survived by one son, Mark R. Humphreys of Cadiz; one daughter, Susan Samuel of Torrance, Calif.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
