A tip about possible marijuana plants in southeastern Trigg County led to a Thursday night raid that resulted in the discovery of a still, explosives, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and several types of guns, and two Herndon residents were arrested, said reports by Trigg County Sheriff Ray Burnam.

Nathan Alford Whitt, 51, and his wife Beatrix A. Whitt, 48, were arrested at their home in the 3900 block of Caledonia – Pee Dee Road at 9:28 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 16, the reports said.

Both were charged with possession of marijuana while armed, possession of drug paraphernalia, apparatus for unlawful manufacture of alcohol, first offense, unlicensed manufacture/sale/transport of alcohol, first offense, and Nathan Whitt was also charged with having a prescription controlled substance not in an original container, first offense, reports indicated.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BAFTE, or simply ATF) are also examining possible gun charges, added the report.
