The problems that weren’t completely fixed early on were on special teams, where Trigg allowed a kickoff return for touchdown for the second consecutive week, and on ball control, where the ‘Cats lost two fumbles inside the red zone.
But Trigg head coach Coby Lewis was pleased with the way his team addressed those issues in the second half, mostly in the third quarter as many starters were on the sidelines during the fourth.
“We’re still working on kickoff coverage, but we kicked it deep in the second half and got down and did a great job,” Lewis said. “That’s just attitude, desire and deciding you’re going to do it.”
Trigg opened the game by recovering a Todd onside kick attempt and driving for a quick score on a 19-yard pass from Luke McKenzie to David Wease.
