VOLLEYBALL: Lady ‘Cats 8-7 after busy week

After a busy weekend of matches, Trigg County’s volleyball team moved ahead of the .500 mark with a victory Monday at Mayfield.

The Lady Wildcats tipped off a stretch of seven matches in seven days with a 3-0 (25-20, 25-13, 25-22) victory last Tuesday at Todd County Central. Brittany Hallgren led Trigg with 12 kills and Emma Tilley nad five aces. The junior varsity team lost 2-0.

Friday and Saturday, Trigg played in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Western Kentucky Smackdown, winning one of five matches.

Friday, Trigg lost 2-0 (25-14, 25-10) to Bowling Green and 2-0 (25-19, 25-19) to Hopkins County Central.

Saturday, the Lady ‘Cats topped Webster County 2-0 (25-15, 25-22) and lost 1-2 to Livingston Central (25-16, 17-25, 22-25) and University Heights Academy (17-25, 25-16, 11-25).

Monday, Trigg got back on the winning track in a marathon 3-2 (23-25, 25-15, 19-25, 25-7, 15-7) victory at Mayfield.
