Funeral services for Onnie Roberta “Bird” Tyler, 80, of Cadiz, will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at Bloomfield Baptist Church in Cadiz. Visitation is scheduled from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, at the Church. The Rev. Bailey Davie will officiate. Burial will follow in Trigg Memory Acres. Gamble Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Tyler died of natural causes at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at Trigg County Hospital.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1932, in Trigg County to the late James Roscoe Acree and Allie Mae Brandon Acree.

She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Linton and was a member of the Choir and Culinary Dept. Roberta was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “J. C.” Tyler.

She is survived by one sister, Glendora Bingham; sons, Dennie Tyler (and wife Imogene), Larry Tyler (and wife Roberta), Kenneth, Kerry, Michael and Gregory Tyler all of Cadiz, and James Tyler of Madisonville; one daughter, Rotricia Kirby (and husband Charles) of Cadiz; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
