Blaine Alexander put the Wildcats on the board with a free-kick goal in the 43rd minute. Lucas Anderson broke through Trigg’s defense in the 65th minute to tie the score.
Trigg goalkeeper Austin Calhoun was challenged again by Anderson inside the final two minutes of the second half and made a big save to keep the score tied. Just before the final whistle, Ben Wigand’s corner kick set up a solid scoring chance for the ‘Cats, but they couldn’t convert.
Trigg lost the junior varsity game 6-3.
The ‘Cats were scheduled to return to action Tuesday at 5th District rival Lyon County (results unavailable at press time) before hosting Reidland on Thursday and playing Monday at Mayfield.
