Trigg County’s volleyball team took an early lead in the 5th District standings with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-22) win Thursday against Crittenden County.

Although the Lady Wildcats (9-8 overall) currently have three losses against district foe Livingston Central, all of those were season-tournament matches which do not count toward either team’s district record. Trigg lost each of those close matches 2-1, and Crittenden defeated Livingston in the only other district match played so far.

Against the Lady Rockets, Trigg was led by Brittney Hallgren’s 10 kills and nine aces. Emma Tilley recorded 19 assists, and Laurin Oliver had one blocked shot.

Trigg’s junior varsity and freshman teams each defeated Crittenden 2-1.
