Mrs. Sumner died of natural causes at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Covington’s Convalescent Center in Hopkinsville.
She was born on Dec. 14, 1918, in Trigg County to the late Huell and Asrilee McGee Thomas.
Louise was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church. She retired from Elk Brand Manufacturing and Key Cleaners in Hopkinsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Averitt Sumner, Sr.; one brother, Fred Thomas; one grandchild, Tabitha Wasson; and son-in-law, George McCraw.
She is survived by two brothers, Homer Thomas and Dorris Thomas both of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Janay Dennison of Springfield, Ill. and Dorothy Kilgore of Cincinnati, Ohio; one son, Raymond Averitt Sumner, Jr. of Herndon; two daughters, Anna Sumner McCraw of Herndon and Regeana Wasson (and husband David) of Herndon; four grandchildren, Carol McCraw Yarbo, Tracey Sumner, Chase Kenneth Clay and Lisa Sumner Gonzales; and three great-grandchildren, Carley Pendleton, and Cayleigh and Claire Clay.
