Mr. Moore died following a long illness at 9:03 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012, at his residence.
He was born on Sept. 25, 1921, in Washington County to the late Alvin J. Moore and Nellie Magaha Brown Moore.
Joseph Moore was of the Christian faith. He was a retired electrician from Fort Knox Civil Service. Joseph was a United States Army veteran having served in WWII, in the South Pacific, and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen B. Moore; and one sister, Dorothy Stecker.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elefreda Moore of Princeton; two daughters, Adelia Ann Meadows of Elizabethtown and Jane Davis of Madison, Ala.; six grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers are William T. Davis, William T. Davis, Jr., Nathan Huddleston, David Hall, Richard Mitchell and John Mitchell.
Music will be provided by Clarissa King, pianist.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
