Five from Trigg County earn Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee scholarships

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, a charitable organization connecting generosity with need, announces the awarding of more than $1.4 million in scholarships to students pursuing secondary education at accredited schools throughout the United States.

Five Trigg County students received the Cadiz Rotary Club Rise Carol Thompson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established originally through the Rotary Club of Cadiz,by Brent and Dot Thompson in memory of their daughter, Rise Carol, a student at Vanderbilt University who passed away in an automobile accident.

Below are the 2012 scholarship recipients of the Cadiz Rotary Club Rise Carol Thompson Memorial Scholarship:

Kanisha P. Frye received the scholarship to attend Lindsey Wilson College.

Hanna L. Gorman received the scholarship to attend Liberty University.

Samantha M. Harper received the scholarship to attend University of Louisville.

Austin P. Hart received the scholarship to attend University of Kentucky.

Jessica J. Stewart received the scholarship to attend Murray State University.
