On August 16, 2007, Trigg County’s volleyball team defeated Livingston Central. In the 15 matches that followed between the Lady Wildcats and the Lady Cardinals, Livingston was the victor in each.

Thursday, Trigg snapped that streak with a commanding 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-20) win.

Trigg had lost three non-district matches against Livingston earlier in the season, all by 2-1 scores.

“We only had four varsity starters playing in those losses,” Trigg head coach Scott Hill said. “When we had everyone together, it worked out.”

The win gives Trigg a 2-0 record in the 5th District, one game ahead of Crittenden (1-1) and two ahead of the Lady Cardinals (0-2). Trigg will play both teams once more this season.

The win over Livingston was sandwiched between a 3-0 (27-25-25-17, 25-21) win last Tuesday over Hopkinsville and a tight 3-2 (7-25, 25-22, 25-22, 24-26, 15-9) win Monday against University Heights Academy.
