Despite what head coach Josh Nichols called sloppy play, Trigg County picked up a 4-1 win Monday at Mayfield. The win kept the Wildcats undefeated so far this season at 6-0-2.

“We missed a ton of shots, but [goalkeeper] Austin Calhoun played well and stopped some tough chances,” Nichols said.

Trigg was led by Ean Sholar, who scored two goals and recorded an assist. Blaine Alexander had a goal and two assists, Caleb McIntosh added a goal and Ben Wigand had an assist.

Thursday, Trigg topped Reidland 5-0. Alexander had two goals and an assist, and Wigand and Romaine Cunningham each had a goal and an assist.

Last Tuesday, Trigg topped 5th District foe Lyon County 10-0. Clark Adams had three goals and an assist. Alexander had two goals and four assists, Sholar had two goals and an assist and Wigand had two goals.

Trigg returns to action Thursday against Dawson Springs before playing Saturday at Madisonville-North Hopkins, hosting University Heights Academy on Monday and Lyon County next Tuesday.
