Glenda Lawrence died of natural causes at 3:09 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at her residence.
She was born on Aug. 3, 1941, in Trigg County to the late Mount Vernon Bridges and Nora Ambie Bridges Hughes.
Glenda was a member of Dyers Chapel United Methodist Church. She was employed by Pennyrile Allied Community Services in the Cadiz office.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry B. Lawrence; three brothers, Cecil Bridges, Lonnie Bridges and Lacy W. Bridges; and two sisters, Myrtle Rhea Hendricks and Sadie Wyatt.
She is survived by one son, Jerry Wayne Lawrence (and wife Missy) of Calvert City; two daughters, Kim Mitchell (and husband Tony) and Missy Burgess (and husband Ira), all of Cadiz; five grandchildren, Jessica and Eddie Proffitt, Thomas and Lindsey Mitchell and Dustin and Brittany Burgess; four step-grandchildren, Jason and Ashley Harrington, and Chris and Deshae Harrington; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Proffitt and Layne Mitchell; one step-great-grandchild, Jayce Puckett; one step-sister, Annette Skinner (and husband Tommy) of Cadiz; three brothers-in-law, Bill Lawrence and Larry Lawrence, both of Cadiz and Bly Golladay of Hopkinsville; and one sister-in-law, Martha Bridges of Cadiz.
Serving as pallbearers were Thomas Mitchell, Dustin Burgess, Eddie Proffitt, Justin Wyatt, Vernon Hendricks and W. C. Hendricks. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Wyatt, Layton Lawrence, Larry Lawrence, Bill Lawrence, Bly Golladay, Jr. J.B. Moore, Gaylon Bridges, Charles “Fox” Dawson and Alex McAllister. Music was provided by Becky Waldrup, vocalist, and Brian Shuck, pianist.
