TCMS participated in tournament play at Christian County on Friday and Saturday and earned one win in four games.
Trigg topped Hopkinsville 8-1. Hannah Colbert was the winning pitcher and recorded four strikeouts. Arianna Brown led the way at the plate with a double and a single. Jamaya Shemwell and Madison Simpson each had two singles, Emma Staples had a double, and Addison Rogers batted in a run.
Trigg pitcher Gracie Dixon struck out two batters each in a 9-0 loss to University Heights Academy and a 5-0 loss to Lyon County. Against the Lady Lyons, Trigg catcher Brown and shortstop Staples combined to stop three of Lyon’s four attempted base-stealers.
Trigg then lost 11-1 to Caldwell County, with Dixon striking out two and recording a single at the plate. Autumn Durham led Trigg with a single, a triple and an RBI. Brown and Simpson each had singles.
