Trigg County’s boys soccer team improved its record to 8-0-2 last week.

Thursday, Trigg had no trouble in a 10-0 win against Dawson Springs. Clark Adams led the Wildcats with five goals and an assist, Blaine Alexander had two goals and three assists, Robaine Cunningham two goals and an assist, and Ean Sholar had a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Austin Calhoun recorded the shutout.

Saturday, Trigg picked up a 2-1 victory at Madisonville-North Hopkins. Seth McNichols scored on an assist by Alexander, who scored unassisted on the second goal.

“Our defense was outstanding all day,” Trigg head coach Josh Nichols said. “Austin had a couple of incredible saves in the second half to keep the lead. One was a deflection off one of our defenders and Austin was moving one way and had to dive back the other to get to it. One of the best saves I’ve seen in a while.”
