CROSS COUNTRY: Trigg cross country competes in Bowling Green

Trigg County’s cross country team competed Sept. 8 in the Purple Strider Invitational at Kerelakes Park in Bowling Green.

In the varsity boys race, Matthew Chinn finished 36th in 19:36.75, followed by J.B. Hendricks (51st, 20:10.11), Garret Brown (74th, 21:43.63) and Luke Chinn (105th, 28:19.58).

In the varsity girls race, Katie Coons finished 41st in 25:41.97 and Katie Hatfield was 42nd in 25:45.91.

In the middle school boys race, John Chinn was 49th in 13:54.09 and Caleb Martin finished 54th in 14:07.85.

In the middle school girls race, Bethany Morgan finished 28th in 16:18.80 and was followed by Libby Redd (32nd, 16:38.81), Ashlyn Hatfield (35th, 17:04.65), Morgan Hendricks (38th, 17:30.4) and Mallorie Godair (39th, 17:36.96).

In the elementary girls race, Emma Staples had Trigg’s best finish of the day, taking 14th in 9:33.94. She was followed by Breeanna Barnes (25th, 10:34.33), Paige Dunn (51st, 11:38.97), Carla Adams (66th, 12:33.95), Morgan Alexander (67th, 12:49.18) and Isabella Alexander (14:06.14).

Trigg will run Saturday at Logan County.
