Gateway Garden Club met earlier this month at local library

The Gateway Garden Club met Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the John L. Street Library for their regular monthly meeting.

President Jan Malmer called the meeting to order. Kathy Dietrich gave the treasurer report. Becky Oliver read the minutes of the August meeting. Penny Pines goal of $68 has been reached. Motion after some discussion Becky Oliver made the motion to have Penny Pines certificate in honor of GCKY State President Diane Caines. Motion carried.

The Audubon District meeting was discussed. Those going to the meeting will meet on Oct. 18 at 8:15 at Kings Chapel Church. The program has been changed to herbs. The library landscaping was discussed.

The Library Board will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 18. Bulbs will be dug on Sept. 24 at 9 a.m. The pigs will be added to the Blue Star Garden for Ham Festival. Clean up at the Blue Star will be Oct. 3 at 9 a.m.

October’s meeting will be on drying flowers and members are to bring ideas and herbs for the Nature Christmas Tree.
