Della Spann died of natural causes at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center in Cadiz.
She was born on Jan. 21, 1943, in Evansville, Ind., to the late Willis Samuel and Ruby Townsend Clark.
Della was of the Baptist faith and she was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Spann, Sr.; step- mother, Lizzie Armstrong Clark; one brother, James Clark; one sister, Sarah Underwood; and one daughter, Linda Ann Spann.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Speaks of Cadiz and Barbara Leonard of Hopkinsville; three sons, Henry Morgan Spann, Jr., Robert Earl Spann and William Samuel Spann (and wife Mary Joanna), all of Cadiz; nine grandchildren, Morgan, Ashley, Joanna, Tabitha, Robert, Mary, Elizabeth, Linda, and April Spann; one step-grandchild, Frank Williams; six great-grandchildren, Destiny, Zana and Diamond VanHoozer, Samira Spann, Gracey Helms and Minah Merritt.
Serving as pallbearers were Frankie Williams, Robert Spann, Bill West, Morgan Spann, Claude Russell, Samuel Leonard and Mark Mitchell.
