Eleanor died of natural causes at 8:25 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at Clarksville Nursing and Rehab Center in Clarksville, Tenn.
She was born on Sept. 12, 1925, in Trigg County to the late John C. and Beulah Lurline Dawson Moore.
Eleanor Darnell was a member of Canton Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday school teacher. She was a homemaker and member of Ophelia Chapter No. 55 Order of the Eastern Star and Trigg County Hospital Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Boyd Darnell; four brothers, Gene, Thomas, Jammie and John Moore; and one sister, Mary Cordelia Fletcher.
Eleanor is survived by one brother, Ben Moore of Cadiz; two sisters, Velma Morgan of Big Rock, Tenn. and Sue Goodrich of Clarksville, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Darnell (and wife Vicki) of Phoenix, Ariz. and John Darnell (and wife Sherry) of S. Chicago Heights, Ill.; two daughters, Virginia Page (and husband Jim) of Clarksville, Tenn. and Marcha Osgood (and husband John) of Steger, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Larry Darnell, Jr., Ronnie Darnell, Jesse Darnell, Jason Osgood, Todd Osgood, Michael Darnell and Mathew Darnell; 11 great-grandchildren, Skye Bowman, Summer Miller, and Dayla, Alyssa, Danielle and Noah Darnell, and Peyton, Sydnee, Chase, Isabella and John Osgood; and one great-great grandchild, Selena Miller.
Serving as pallbearers are Larry Darnell, Jr., Ronnie Darnell, Jesse Darnell, Jason Osgood, Todd Osgood, Michael Darnell and Mathew Darnell. Music will be provided by Larry Darnell, Jr., vocalist. Memorials may be made to Trigg County Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 99, Cadiz, KY 42211.
