The Trojans kept their first offensive drive alive thanks to a Wildcat penalty on fourth down near midfield, but after driving inside the Trigg 10-yard line, a Webster fumble was recovered by Rayquan Stubblefield and returned 95 yards for the games first score.
“Our defense did a good job of stopping them there,” Trigg head coach Coby Lewis said. “That got things going in the right direction.”
Luke McKenzie ended the first quarter with a 10-yard touchdown pass to Dee Murphy. Webster answered with another drive inside the red zone, but it ended with a Brandon Wilson interception. Late in the second quarter, big runs by Jayven Jones, Maurice Powell and McKenzie set up a one-yard touchdown run by Jones.
Chris Acree added a two-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter, and David Wease caught a 37-yard touchdown pass from McKenzie a few minutes later.
