Trigg County’s boys and girls soccer teams will compete for 2nd Region Championships next week.

Both teams played in the 5th District Tournament Championship rounds on Tuesday. Results were unavailable at press time, but district finalists automatically advance to the region tournament.

Trigg’s boys will be joined by Lyon County in the region tournament at Henderson County. The winner of the girls district tournament, which featured Trigg and Lyon, will host the girls region tournament.

The Wildcats’ final two regular season games against Hopkinsville and Community Christian Academy were canceled, preserving Trigg’s second undefeated season in the last three years at 12-0-4.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats finished their regular season with a 4-2 win over Muhlenberg County thanks to three goals by Hannah Futrell, a goal and an assist by Lauren Frazier and an assist by Brittany Shafer.
