Charlie Turner died of natural causes at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville.
He was born on Oct. 2, 1926, in Bumpus Mills, Tenn., to Charlie Nay Turner and Lottie Scott Turner.
Charlie was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He retired from General Motors Corporation, Fisher Body Division. Charlie was also a 60-year Mason, member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121, a United States Army veteran and an avid golfer.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Turner; two brothers, Lindsey and Lennis Turner, two sisters, Eunice Eliott and Virginia Armstrong; and two sons, Terry and Larry Hoskins.
He is survived by two sons, Charles Turner (and wife Lisa) of Louisville and David Turner (and wife Allison) of New Orleans, La.; one niece, Debbie Roberts (and husband Hugh) of Cadiz; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hugh Roberts, Evan Roberts, David Turner, Paul Stallons, Gaylon Stallons and Gayle Grant. Music will be provided by Carolyn Stallons, pianist.
