A memorial service for Raymond Ray Bean, 66, of Cadiz, formerly of St. Charles, will be held at a later date. Bandy Funeral Home in Nortonville is in charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Bean died on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at his home.

He was born on May 14, 1946, in Hopkins County to the late John David and Delcie Knight Bean.

Raymond Bean was a retired coal miner, employed by Peabody Coal- Star Mines, a member of UMWA District 23, and a member of the Sheppard’s Chapel.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, Wayne and Ronald Bean; and one sister, Shirley Bean.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol (Phaup) Bean; two sisters, Gene Messamore of Dawson Springs and Marie Brasher of Madisonville; one son, John Bean (and wife Tammi) of Hanson; and two grandchildren, Whitney Bean and Jared Bean.
