There are plenty of activities for Trigg Countians during the Halloween season.

Halloween Safe Night will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 31, from 4 – 6 p.m. in downtown Cadiz, as it has in previous years. “Everyone is invited to attend trick or treating in a safe environment in downtown Cadiz,” said Officer Scott Brown of the Cadiz Police Department.

Cadiz Renaissance on Main Director Leida Underhill said that organization has been organizing this for at least a decade with the intent of keeping kids safe and together in a safe area.

Underhill said that with an average turnout of about 2,000 kids, the event takes the pressure off of the neighborhoods with regard to trick-or-treating.

The Cadiz/Trigg County Chamber of Commerce puts on a costume contest, and the Cadiz Rotary Club, school clubs, churches, businesses and other local organizations are also usually involved, said Underhill.

In other Halloween news, after a three-year hiatus, a local outdoor haunted trail on 798 Pugh Flat Church Road off of Ky. 139 near the Linton community in the southern part of the county has opened back up in time for Halloween.
