McConnell’s statement about making Obama a one-term president – a statement he has made previously on the national level – was met with thunderous applause.
“The most important thing to remember this year, is what this election’s about,” said McConnell. “This is a national election. No matter what you’re running for, this is a national election about big issues and the future of this country.”
Betty Sue Howard of the Trigg County Republican Women’s Club said there were about 75 – 100 people in their headquarters, located next to China Buffett. Among those also at the rally were Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries, who is running to replace State Senator Ken Winters (R), State Representative candidates Kenny Imes and Max Sturdivant and Magistrate Jon Goodwin, who is running for Trigg County Circuit Court Clerk.
Immedately after the rally, however, McConnell wasn’t specific about what, if anything, he’d replace Obamacare with, stating instead that the important first step is to repeal it.
