This season will mark the fourth year since the revival of Trigg County High School’s wrestling program and the fifth since the middle school began competing for the first time ever.

The 2012-13 team is expected to display continued growth, head coach Ralph Stevens said.

“We’re just learning the basic moves right now and seeing how long it will be before football players can come out,” Stevens said. “We have a busy schedule this year.”

Once the Wildcat football season is complete, the high school wrestling team will consist of approximately 20 competitors.

“We’ll be able to fill every weight class in high school this year,” said Stevens, who wrestled at TCHS in the early 1980s. “We didn’t even do that when I was in high school.”

Trigg returns three wrestlers who advanced to the state tournament last season – Daniel Ingram, Jerimiah Kline and Aaron Stevens.
